CLEANING THE APPLIANCE
Warning
Make sure the iron is unplugged from the supply mains and has completely cooled down
before cleaning it.
Warning
Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
Warning
Check the state of the power cable of your iron on a regular basis before using it, and
if it is damaged, take it to the service centre closest to you to have it replaced only by
specialised personnel.
Self clean system
To prolong the life of your iron, we recommend that this procedure be carried out at regular
intervals (once or twice a month).
1 Fill the water tank for a quarter using the measuring cup (M) provided (Fig. 3).
2 Set the iron on a stable surface in a vertical position on the iron stand (G).
3 Make sure the steam adjustment selector is set on “0”.
4 Insert the plug into a power outlet.
5 Position the temperature adjustment knob on “max”.
6 Heat the iron until the lamp (H) turns off a second time.
7 Position the temperature adjustment knob on “min”.
8 Unplug the iron and keep it in a horizontal position on a sink.
9
Press the "SELF CLEAN" button (K) and keep the iron in horizontal position. Steam and boil-
ing water will come out from the plate holes removing the lime scale and impurities that
have accumulated inside the plate.
10 Gently move the iron back and forth until the tank is completely emptied.
11 Put the iron in a vertical position on its stand and wait for the soleplate to cool down com-
pletely.
12 Make sure that the soleplate is completely dry before storing the iron.
Before using the iron again, try it on an old piece of cloth to make sure that the soleplate and
tank are clean and to allow residual water to vaporize.
THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER DAMAGE CAUSED BY CLOGGING DUE TO LIME.
Cleaning the soleplate and shell
Warning
Do not use abrasives for cleaning the soleplate. Try and keep the soleplate smooth: avoid
contact with metal objects.
Any deposits and other residue on the soleplate can be removed using a cloth soaked in a water
and vinegar solution.
Clean plastic parts with a damp, non-abrasive cloth and dry them with a dry cloth.
