Check Lid Gasket:
When the lid gasket is in good working order, there should be little or no accumulated
moisture found inside the
HemaCool™
unless the lid is opened and closed frequently. If
a lot of moisture seems to be accumulating while the lid is kept closed, it may be that the
lid gasket is dirty, is closing on debris, or has gotten cut or damaged. To inspect the seal,
open the lid and look for dirt and debris accumulation on the black rubber gasket and
along its edges. Also check for dirt and debris along the gasket’s mating surface inside
the unit, and clean the unit using a damp sponge if needed (
Fig. 13
and
14
). Cleaning
with a damp sponge may be done quickly, so you don’t have to remove the payload to
another refrigerator while you do it.
Mild cleanser such as Soft Scrub
TM
may be used to assist in cleaning, but must be rinsed
away carefully afterward. Cleaning with soap, then rinsing, requires you to move the
payload to another storage refrigerator during cleaning. This is to protect the payload
both from heat and from contamination.
