Installing ground disks / liner protection plates (DN 15 to 600 / ½ to 24")
Ground disks / liner protection plates may be ordered from Hauser as a separate accessory
These disks fulfill two different functions and are used under the following process conditions:
• Grounding function for potential equalization:
Depending on the application, e.g. in the case of lined or ungrounded pipes (
Page 52 ff.), it
may be necessary to mount ground disks between the sensor and the pipe flange for potential
equalization.
• Protective function for measuring tube lining:
When measuring extremely abrasive fluids, such as sludge containing sand or stones (ore slurry,
cement etc.), liner protection plates should be installed if necessary, to protect the measuring tube
lining from excessive abrasion.
"
Caution!
• When using these disks (incl. seals), the total fitting length is increased! The dimensions are
provided in the separate "Technical Information".
• Natural rubber lining
→
No additional seals may be installed between the disk and the sensor
flange.
• Additional seals must be installed between the disk and the pipe flange.
1.
Place the disk and the additional seal(s) between the device flange and the pipe flange
(see Fig. 20).
2.
Insert the bolts through the flange holes. Tighten the nuts so that they are still loose.
3.
Now rotate the disk as shown in Fig. 20 until the handle strikes the bolts. This will center the
disk automatically.
4.
Tighten the bolts to the required torque
5.
If the disk has an grounding function
