3. Calibration
The Nivotester must be calibrated:
•
When the instrument is first commissioned
•
if the instrument substitutes an existing unit
•
If the electronic insert is replaced (to ensure that the best
possible accuracy is attained).
•
if the product changes, i.e. if the new product has a substantially
different dielectric constant and/or electrical conductivity.
Nivotester FTC 420
The calibration procedure depends upon the Nivotester type and
application. Three possibilities exist for the Nivotester FTC 420:
•
calibration with an uncovered probe, Page 31.
•
calibration with a covered probe, Page 33
•
calibration with both uncovered and covered probe, Page 33.
Nivotester FTC 421
The Nivotester FTC 421, see Page 34, is calibrated as the
FTC 420. The switching delay is then adjusted.
Calibration controls
The calibration controls are located behind the front panel and can
be accessed as follows:
•
Insert a screwdriver blade into the front panel release points, see
Fig. 9, and gently prise forward.
•
Pull the panel forward.
•
On completion of the calibration, press the panel into position
again.
Insert screwdriver blade
and press forwards
