Tip shape
The thermal response time, the reduction of the flow cross-section and the mechanical load that
occurs in the process are the criteria that matter when selecting the shape of the tip. Advantages of
using reduced thermometer tips:
• A smaller tip shape has less impact on the flow characteristics of the pipe carrying the medium.
• The flow characteristics are optimized, thereby increasing the stability of the protection tube.
• Hauser offers users a range of protection tube tips to meet every requirement:
– Straight tip
– Reduced tip with 4.76 mm (³⁄₁₆ in): walls of lower thickness significantly reduce the response
times of the overall measuring point
