Before performing any cleaning work on the device, the device must be de-energized.
Live transformer cables must never be opened to remove any dust or dirt that may have
accumulated.
In normal use, the measuring device does not require any maintenance.
The front of the measuring device should be wiped with a dry cloth only. Use minimum
pressure and never apply pressure to the tinted viewing window. If necessary, the rear can
also be wiped with a dry cloth. Only isopropyl alcohol can be used as a cleaning agent and
should be used sparingly. Never use water. If the rear of the device or the terminals should
be accidentally contaminated with water, the measuring device must be dried carefully
before further service. If it is suspected that water or another contaminant might have
entered the device, the device must be examined and overhauled at the factory.
All terminals must be examined regularly for corrosion and to ensure that the terminal
connections have not become loose. This is particularly important if the device is exposed
to vibrations.
