Alternative monitoring measures must be taken to ensure process safety during
configuration, proof-testing and maintenance work on the device.
6.6
Repair
Repair means restoring functional integrity by replacing defective components.
Components of the same type must be used for this purpose. It is recommended to
document the repair. This includes specifying the device serial number, the repair date,
the type of repair and the individual who performed the repair.

6.6.1
Replacing device components
The following components may be replaced by the customer's technical staff if genuine spare
parts are used and the appropriate installation instructions are followed:
• Sensor
• Transmitter without a sensor
• Display module
• Power unit
• Main electronics module
• I/O-Module
• Terminals
• Connection compartment cover
• Electronics compartment cover
• Seal sets for electronics compartment cover
• Securing clamps for electronics compartment cover
• Cable glands

The replaced component must be sent to Hauser for the purpose of fault analysis if
the device has been operated in a protective system and a device error cannot be ruled out. In
this case, always enclose the "Declaration of Hazardous Material and Decontamination" with
the note "Used as SIL device in protection system" when returning the defective device. Please
also refer to the "Return" section in the Operating Instructions. .
6.7
Modification
Modifications are changes to devices with SIL capability already delivered or installed.

manufacturing center.
