Appendix B Troubleshooting Guide
This Troubleshooting Guide provides answers to common problems regarding the Wireless
ADSL 2+ Modem Router settings, connections, and computer settings.
(1)
The Wireless ADSL 2+ Modem Router does not work (None of the LEDs light up)
Answer.
Check the following:
1.
Make sure that you are using the correct power adapter for your Wireless
ADSL 2+ Modem Router device.
2.
Make sure that the power adapter is plugged into a power socket.
3.
Make sure the power switch is on if you are using the power extension cable.

I changed the LAN IP Address in the LAN configuration page and my PC is no
longer able to detect the Wireless ADSL 2+ Modem Router.
Answer.
After changing the LAN IP Address of the Wireless ADSL 2+ Modem Router,
proceed to the following steps to refresh IP address of the PC before the PC is able to
recognize the Wireless ADSL 2+ Modem Router:
1. Click
“Start”
“Run”
.
2.
In the Open field, enter
“cmd”
then click
“OK”
.
3.
In the command prompt, type
“ipconfig/release”
and then press
“Enter”
(for Windows 2000/XP Operating System).
4. Type
“ipconfig/renew”
then press
“Enter”
.

LAN (Link/Act) LED does not light up.
Answer.
Check the following:
1.
Make sure that the LAN cables are securely connected to the 10/100Base-T
port.
2. Make sure that you are using the correct cable type for your Ethernet
equipment.
3.
Make sure the computer's Ethernet port is configured for auto-negotiation.
