Field Name
Description
Max packet size
The maximum number of characters that can be received by the Ethernet
interface before being automatically sent to the serial port and radio
network.
A large packet size is typically more efficient than a small packet size, but
may cause unacceptable delays in getting the data to the destination
devices. You may need to experiment with your system in order to
determine the optimum value.
The default value is
1024
characters.
Character timeout
The maximum amount of time to wait for another character, before the
characters received by the Ethernet interface are automatically sent to the
serial port and radio network.
A large large timeout is typically more efficient than a small timeout, but
may cause unacceptable delays in getting the data to the destination
devices. You may need to experiment with your system in order to
determine the optimum value.
The default value is
2
characters.
