5.4 CDMA Modulation Switch 5
To insure proper detection and measurement of the RF power output, the proper
modulation protocol must be selected. CDMA is the only protocol that requires a
different look-up table, which is activated by turning switch 5 to “on”.
If CDMA is used, and switch 5 is inadvertently left “off”, the maximum power output of
the EkoMini
will be +19 dBm (1 dB below the specified value). If switch 5 is turned
“on”, and a non-CDMA protocol is used, the maximum power output of the EkoMini
will be +21 dBm (1 dB above the specified value). The repeater has enough design
margin to allow this slightly higher output power without exceeding the spurious output
specifications.
5.5 Manually Reducing the Downlink Power Output Limit:
The downlink peak power output limit may be manually controlled over a 14 dB range
using switches 6, 7, and 8, as shown in Table 10 below.
Note:
This manual control
overrides the peak RF output level set by the automatic software. Also remember that
the uplink gain will be reduced an equal amount, to keep the UL and DL gains
balanced.
