Slide switch for

tweeter attenuation

When you tighten up the screws to mount the mid/woofers in place, be sure to check for an airtight

seal and good fit of the basket rim to the mounting surface . You can now re-install the factory plastic

grilles or the complete door panels .
If you have chosen another location for your mid/woofers (other than factory cut-outs), you can

also use the speaker protection grilles to avoid any damage to the cones of your mid/woofers .

To use the speaker grilles, mount the mid/woofers on top of the flat ring . Then proceed to press the

grilles on top .

The tweeter attenuation switch is located inside the crossover housing on the circuit board . Four

different positions can be selected by moving the jumper to

 0dB / -2dB / -4dB

 positions .

0dB will give you a loud high frequency reproduction, while -4dB gives you a              soft sound in the

treble region .
The correct attenuation must be played by ear, as you simply tune the high frequency balance to

fit your personal taste .

attention

: The jumper on each x-over PCB must be set to the same attenuation level .

Finally, you should determine the acoustically correct in-phase connection of the tweeters . This

depends on several factors, for example in what loaction the tweeters have been mounted, or upon

the relative distance between tweeter, mid/woofer and listener . Listen to the set with tweeter wires

connected as indicated, then invert BOTH tweeter wires at the terminals of the crossovers and listen

for changes in the upper midrange region . One of the two options will give you a  better staging

and a more detailed, crisp and transparent sound quality .

After you have set the correct tweeter attenuation level and you have tested the best sounding tweeter

connection polarity, you can remount the top of the crossover housing, reinstall all panels / factory

grilles – your installation is now completed .
