2. Max. measuring range of the measuring device for alternating current
is 600A. Measurement of higher values results in measuring error.
Measurement of Resistance
1. Connect the black test conductor to the clamp COM and the red test
conductor to the clamp
.
2. Set the rotary switch to position .
3. Connect the test conductor to the measured object.
4. The measured value appears on the display.
Note:
1. If resistance is equal or higher than
, it might last several seconds
until a figure is stabilized.
This is usual for measuring high resistance.
2. If the input clamps are in open circuit condition, the display shows the
indicator of exceeding the OL range.
3. Before you start measuring, disconnect the supply of the measured
circuit and carefully discharge all condensers.
Diode Test
1. Connect the black test conductor to the “COM” clamp and the red test
conductor to the
clamp. (red test conductor is po. )
2. Set the rotary switch to position
.
Then push the FUNC./HOLD button until symbol
.appears on the
display.
3. Connect the red test conductor to the anode of the measured diode
and the black test conductor to the cathode.
4. On the display, deduct approximate voltage decrease in the forward
direction.
Continuity Test
1. Connect the black test conductor to the clamp COM and the red test
conductor to the clamp
.
2. Set the rotary switch to position
. Then push the FUNC./HOLD
button until symbol
appears on the display.
3. Connect the test conductor to the measured circuit.
4. If resistance is lower than about 30 Ω, the built-in buzzer switches on.
Note:
Before starting the test, disconnect supply of the measured circuit and
carefully discharge all condensers.
Automatic Supply Switch off
If you do not use the measuring device or do not turn the rotary switch
for 15 minutes, the measuring device automatically switches off and goes
to the sleep mode.
The sleep mode can be cancelled by pushing the FUNC./HOLD button
or turning the switch.
If you push the FUNC./HOLD button to cancel the sleep mode and the
rotary switch is in position of measuring voltage, current or resistance,
the function of automatic switch off is still not active.
MAINTENANCE
Clean the case regularly with a damp cloth and fine agent. Do not use
abrasive material or solvents. Dirt or dampness on the clamps can affect the
measuring of data. When cleaning the clamps, observe the following steps:
1 Switch off the measuring device and disconnect all the test conductors.
2 Remove all dirt on the clamps by shaking.
3 Immerse a clean cloth in alcohol. Clean the area around each clamp
properly.
REPLACING THE BATTERIES
When the display indicates low batteries
, the batteries are low and
it is necessary to replace them immediately.
Before replacing the batteries the measuring tips must be disconnected
from the measured circuit or equipment. First, unscrew the screw of the
battery cover then replace the flat batteries with new ones of the same
type. Beware of right polarity when inserting them back. Put the cover
back and screw the screw in.
Warning:
Before opening the case or removing the cover of batteries, disconnect
the test conductors from the measuring device and remove the jaws from
the measured conductor.
