Insert the Eminent Powerline Mini Adapter in the wall-outlet nearest to the
computer you wish to connect

Connect the enclosed UTP networking cable to the network connector on the
Powerline Mini adapter.
3.
Connect the other end of the UTP networking cable to the network card in your
computer.
4.
The Powerline Mini has now been connected and installed.
3.1 Connecting an Powerline Mini Adapter to a modem or
router
When you wish to share an existing Internet connection with multiple users or when
you want to relocate your internet connection to another location, you need to connect
an Powerline Mini to a modem or modem/router combination. You can do this by
following the procedure below:
1.
Insert the Eminent Powerline Mini Adapter in the wall-outlet nearest to the
modem or modem/router combination.
2.
Connect the enclosed UTP networking cable to the network port on the Powerline
Mini adapter.
3.
Connect the other end of the UTP networking cable to one of the network ports
on your modem or modem/router combination. These ports are often referred to
as ‘LAN’ ports.
4.
The Powerline Mini has now been properly connected and installed.
3.2 Installing Powerline Mini security software
Normally all connected Powerline Mini adapters will mutually exchange data. In some
cases it may therefore be recommended to secure the Powerline Mini home network.
You will first need to install the security software.
1.
Turn on the computer.
2.
Insert the supplied CD-rom in the CD-rom player.
3.
The wizard will automatically start.
4.
Follow the instructions on your screen till the installation has been finished.
3.3 Securing your Powerline Mini home network
You will find a new shortcut on your desktop named ‘Powerpacket Utility’. You can use
this shortcut to secure your Powerline Mini home network.
Double click the ‘Powerpacket Utility’ on your desktop. The screen which then opens
is divided in two parts. The upper part shows the Powerline Mini adapter that is
