Cleaning of Humidifier (continued)
Care of Filter
WARNING: Fan blade inside can start suddenly. To reduce the risk of shock,
always unplug humidifier before cleaning, or servicing.
CAUTION: To help retard bacteria growth and maintain maximum efficiency, the
filter should be replaced at least once a season, or more often under hard water
conditions. Use Emerson HDC-1 replacement filter available at your local store
or if in the USA call 1-800/654-3545 to order.
End of Season Maintenance
1. Follow bi-weekly maintenance instruc-
tions at end of humidification season.
2. Remove and throw away filter.
3. Let humidifier dry completely before
storing. Do not store with water inside
water reservoirs or base.
4. Store in a cool, dry location.
5. Install a new filter in clean humidifier
before next season begins.
6. “Bi-Weekly Maintenance” is recom-
mended if you do not plan to run the
humidifier for one week or longer.
Filter may be rinsed in clear water only. Take care not to damage paper.
Step 1
Insert screwdriver into
lower right slot
between grille and
housing as shown.
Twist to open slot and
pull grille to unsnap.
Repeat for left side.
Step 3
Grasp filter and rotate
upward inside unit as
shown.
Step 4
Remove filter from unit.
Step 5
With the new filter placed in
the direction as shown,
insert filter into unit.
Step 6
Again rotate filter upward
into unit as shown (Note that
the “Honeycomb” section
should now be facing out-
ward as shown.
Step 7
Align the top of the grille with
the unit making sure that the
three tabs of the grille are
inside the wall of the unit.
Step 8
Push in on the lower left and
right grille corners to snap
grille into place.
Step 2
Pull down and
out to remove
grille.
