Adjusting universal rail length
The front and rear mounting channels in standard EMC
®
40U
cabinets are 24 inches apart (measured from the inside surfaces). The
default setting for type “A” universal rail kits supports cabinets in
which the front and rear mounting channels are 24 to 29 inches apart.
Alternative settings for type “A” kits support cabinets 18-24 inches
and 29-34 inches “deep.”
To change the rail length, move a single screw/nut assembly on each
outside rail such that the two screws define the range stamped on the
inside surface of the outside rail, as shown in
Figure 21
