2. General safety advice
Please note the following:

This product must not be exposed to extreme loads.
•
Do not operate a motor vehicle while wearing this product without first discussing the
matter with your doctor or an orthopaedic engineer.
•
Make sure that you are supported by the complete foot blade when rising from a sitting
position and when using stairs.
•
It is preferable to avoid deep knee bends as this may subject the product to extreme
stress and increases the risk of breaking.
•
Use a shoe that sits firmly on the foot. Do not wear sandals or clogs.
•
Jogging, running or jumping may subject the product to extreme stress and increases
the risk of breaking.
•
The product is manufactured in carbon fibre and cannot be reshaped using heat or the
like. It should always be tested by a trained orthopaedic technician.
•
Do not make any holes in the product as this may damage the carbon fibre and weaken
the product.

4. Working life
The product has an expected working life of three years. This working life is based on correct use,
cleaning, storage and fitting, and that padding and Velcro are replaced as and when required.
It is the responsibility of the user to have the product refurbished if used beyond the calculated
working life. Factors that may affect the product’s working life are extreme loads such as those
caused by jumping, running, crouching, rising from a sitting position, using stairs, long-term use
and badly adapted shoes. When walking, be careful to ensure the gentlest possible load on the
product and when using stairs place weight on the entire foot not just one part of it.
