Solution
The CD-RW drive
CD/CD-R(W) is not properly seated in the CD-RW drive.

Eject the CD/CD-R(W), gently but firmly press down on the CD/CD-R(W) to seat it in the
CD/CD-R(W)
drive, then reload.
Your CD-RW drive is not recognized.
Turn off the computer, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the computer.
CD/CD-R(W) has been inserted upside down.
Eject the CD/CD-R(W), turn it over, then reload. (The label on the CD/CD-R(W) should
be facing up.)
CD/CD-R(W) is dirty.
Clean the CD/CD-R(W) with a CD/CD-R(W) cleaning kit (available in
computer stores).
CD/CD-R(W) is defected.
