Replacing ion exchanger resin
a) Empty the used resin
If the content of dissolved solids in the treated water exceeds 30 TDS (approx. 2 °fH) according to the
meter, then the resin must be changed. We first recommend that you briefly interrupt the water supply,
shake the cartridge and then slowly turn the water supply back on and fill-up. Thus the residual capacity
can be as exhausted as well as possible.
Close ball valve 1) and 2) in the cartridge inlet and outlet. Leave PUROTAP profi connected to the
untreated water tap 3).
Connect hose to the drain valve 4) and insert it into the supplied water-permeable collection
sack. Tightly connect the sack to the top of the hose with a cable binder or tape.
Open the drain valve 4).
Open ball valve 1) in the inlet.
Let the resin drain out and then close the ball valve in inlet 1) again.
Let the cartridge have a dry run and close the drain valve 4).
If the collection sack is dripping with resin, then dispose of it in the household waste.

Open the drain valve on the cartridge
only when replacing the resin and only
if a hose is connected to the collection
sack. Under no circumstances, do not
connect the drain valve to a water sup-
ply system.
