Note:
When changing batteries, after removing the old batteries, press the Tamper Switch twice to fully
discharge before inserting new batteries.
SUPERVISORY SIGNAL
After installation, the Door Contact will automatically, on a random basis (60 ~100 min intervals),
transmit Supervisory signals to the Control Panel.
If the Control Panel does not Door Contact signal over a preset time, the Control Panel will
display that a particular Door Contact is experiencing an out-of-signal problem.
GETTING STARTED
Remove the fixing screw and cover assembly
Insert the two “
AAA
” batteries into the battery holder matching marked battery polarity. The LED
will briefly flash.
Place system in Learn mode and learn-in the Door Contact by pressing the learn/Test button.
Please refer to section “
Add/Delete Device
” in the Control Panel operation manual.
After the Door Contact is learned-
in, put the Control Panel into “
Walk Test
” mode, place the Door
Contact in the desired location, and press the Test button to confirm location is within signal
range of the Control Panel.
When satisfied the Door Contact works in desired location, proceed with installation.
MOUNTING METHODS
There are two methods of mounting the Door Contact: Self-adhesive installation or screw mounting.
Self-adhesive installation
1. Clean the surface with a suitable degreaser.
2. Remove the protective covering from one side of the double sided adhesive pad and firmly
apply to the back of the device.
3. Next remove the other cover and firmly press the item onto the desired location.
Note:
Do not use the adhesive pad method of installation on rough surface or with peeling/cracked paint.
Screw Mounting
The Base has two knockouts for mounting purpose, where the plastic is thinner.
To mount the Door Contact.
1. Remove the cover.
2. Break through the knockouts on the base.
3. Using the holes as a template, drill holes.
4. Insert the wall plugs if drilling into plaster or brick.
5. Screw the cover back on to its base.
INSTALLATION
1.
Ensure the Test/Normal mode jumper switch is in “
ON
” position. This will enable LED to light
every time the Door Contact operates.
2. Fit the base on the Door frame using either the double sided adhesive pad or screws provided.
3. Fit magnet on door using small double sided adhesive pad or the screws provided. Aligning
magnet by arrow as shown.
Note:
The magnet should not be more than 15 mm from the detector when the door is closed.
Ensure tamper switch spring is positioned to make contact with the mounting surface through the
tamper switch aperture.
Windows can be protected in a similar way. For window: fix the magnet to window moving part
and door switch to the frame.
4. Fix the Cover assembly on its base and secure with the screw.
5. Test the Door Contact by opening and closing the door or window when the Control Panel is in
“
Walk Test
” mode. The LED will flash every time the door is opened/closed.
6.
Remove the Cover assembly, put the jumper switch in the normal “
Off
” position. Screw the Cover
assembly back on to its base.
7. Installation is now completed.
Note:
Ensure the jumper is in the normal “Off” position when testing is finished.
