•
Place first sheet of foam in the bottom of the
lower shell case. Place bike frame on foam based
on the positioning shown in Illustration 3. The
crank arms should be oriented as shown. While
placing the frame on the foam, remove handlebar
with stem and place in position, paying careful
attention not to crimp cables. If your bike has a
front opening stem, it is only necessary to open it
to remove the front clamp.
•
Set the frame into a position that places it in
the middle of the case.
•
Thread an enclosed long strap through the loop
of one of the small straps attached to the bottom
of the case.
Wrap the long belt around the frame, as shown
in Illustration 5, routing the loose end through
the buckle. Install the other 3 straps in the
same way. Pull straps tight, without deforming
the case, making sure that the frame remains
centered within the case, preferrably not touching
any wall of the case.
•
Place seatpost/saddle assembly on foam, either
inside of the frame triangle or behind the original
position of the seatstay. Wrap seatpost in cloth
to prevent possible chipping of frame paint,
during transport of case.
•
Place pedals and QR skewers in a bag and place
them in an open area of the foam (behind or under
the down tube, for example).
•
Place 2nd foam sheet on top of the frame and
parts.
Positioning the wheels in the case
•
Place the rear wheel over the rear portion of
the frame with the pinion cassette facing down.
•
Then place front wheel upon the front part of
the case, this wheel overlapping the rear wheel
(See Illustration 6).
