Recognize safety symbols, words and labels
The safety instructions provided in this manual do not cover all procedures or problems that may arise when
operating, servicing and cleaning power tools. Always use common sense and pay special attention to all
DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION, and NOTES in this manual.
This is the warning symbol. It is used to warn against potential injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that
follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death.
DANGER Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in minor or lethal
injuries.
WARNING Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious
injury.
CAUTION Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, can result in minor or moderate
injury.
CAUTION Used without the alert symbol to indicate a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
may cause property damage.
NOTES Provides additional information useful for the correct use and maintenance of this tool. Make sure
you fully understand the notes.
DANGER
People with electronic devices such as pacemakers should consult their doctor before using this product. The
operation of electronic equipment in the vicinity of a pacemaker may cause interference or failure of that
device.
WARNING
Certain types of dust created by sanding, sawing, polishing, drilling and other construction work contain che-
micals that in the State of California have been proven to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive
harm.
Some examples of such chemical substances are:
• The lead of paints based on said metal.
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products, and arsenic and chromium from che-
mically treated wood. The risk of this exposure varies, depending on the frequency with which you do this type
of work. To reduce exposure to these chemicals: work in a well-ventilated area with approved safety equip-
ment, such as specially designed dust masks to filter out microscopic particles.
