Solution
The soleplate is not
heating even though the
iron is plugged in
There is a connection problem.
Check the main power supply cable, the plug and the
wall outlet.
The temperature selector (L) is in • position.
Select the adequate temperature - see “Ironing Chart”.
The iron has been left unattended for some
time and the 3-way auto safety shut off
function has switched the iron off.
To turn the iron back on, gently move the iron until
the temperature indicator light (J) turns on red or if
you have finished ironing, unplug and store the iron.
The iron does not produce
steam
There is not enough water in the tank.
Fill the water tank - see “Getting started”.
The “No steam” button (G) is set to “off”
position (for model ESI7504).
Set the “No steam” button (G) to the “On” position.
The steam selector (E) is set to “off” position.
Set the steam selector between minimum steam and
maximum steam - See “Ironing Chart”.
The iron is not hot enough and the anti-drip
device has been automatically activated.
Set the temperature selector (L) to a position between
••• and MAX. Place the iron on its heel rest and wait
until the temperature indicator light (J) turns on
green.
There is a build up of scale in the soleplate.
Carry out the auto-clean function - see “Cleaning and
Care”.
The spray function does
not work
There is not enough water in tank.
Fill the water tank - see “Getting started”
The turbo steam function
does not work
The turbo steam function was used too
frequently within a short period of time.
Continue ironing on horizontal position for a while
and wait before using the turbo steam or vertical
steam functions again.
The iron is not hot enough.
Adjust the temperature selector (L) to •••. Put the iron
in vertical position and wait until the temperature
indicator light (J) turns on green.
Flakes and impurities
come out of the soleplate
during ironing.
You have used hard water or pure distilled
water, which has caused scale flakes to
develop in the water tank.
Perform the auto-clean function - see “Cleaning and
Care”.
The iron spits and stains
the linen
You are using either pure bottled distilled
water, vinegar, scented, starch or chemical
descaling agents.
Always use normal tap water with no additives- See
“Getting Started”. Perform the auto-clean function -
see “Cleaning and Care”.
You are ironing new garments before washing
them or linen which has not been rinsed
sufficiently.
Always clean new garments before ironing and make
sure linen is rinsed sufficiently.
Perform the auto-clean function - see “Cleaning and
Care”
The soleplate is brown
and may stain the linen
You have set the temperature selector (L) on a
too hot position.
Check the laundry care label of the garments and
select the adequate temperature - see “Ironing Chart”.
Clean the soleplate using a damp cloth while the iron
is still warm. Do not use chemicals or scouring pads.
