The mark "SP" on the display disappears and the
inner temperature is displayed; at the same time,
the yellow signal lamp CONGÉLATION RAPIDE
extinguishes.
Use the button AVERTISSEMENT ARRET (alarm
acknowledgement) to stop the acoustic alarm signal.
The red alarm signal lamp extinguishes automatically
after a certain time.
Following the power supply failure or on the first
putting into service when the inside temperature of
freezer is still too high, the equipment is set to
CONGÉLATION RAPIDE mode for 5 hours. The
display shows "SP". If you want to stop the equipment
prior to the expiry of the five-hour period, press the
button CONGÉLATION RAPIDE for 2 seconds.
ADJUSTING THE TEMPERATURE
SETTING (3)
Use a coin to turn the temperature control knob. This is
to render it more difficult to change the setting
inadvertently (protection against children's action).
Position "Off" means that the equipment is switched
off.
Position "1" means that the inside temperature is at
its highest value.
Position "4" means that the inside temperature is at
its lowest value.
Recommended setting: "2" or "3".
Use a coin and turn the temperature control knob to
position "2" or "3".
The factors influencing the inside temperature are
as follows:
- ambient temperature;
- quantity of foods to be conserved;
- frequency and duration of opening the cover.
Therefore, by means of the thermometer or digital
display, respectively, depending on the type of
equipment, verify at regular intervals whether the
temperature of conservation is at its optimum value
(-18 °C or less).
If necessary, readjust the temperature setting in a
manner that the thermometer or digital display reads
-18 °C or above.
Scientific results show that a temperature of
-18 °C can be considered to be sufficient for the
conservation of foods.
ENERGY SAVING IN CASE OF HALF
A LOAD OR PARTIAL LOAD (4, 5)
Certain types allow energy saving if only partly loaded.
To achieve this, rearrange the products at the bottom
of freezer up to a height marked by a green line A on
the separating wall.
Set the temperature control knob within the energy
saving range marked B.
Verify whether the optimum conservation
temperature of -18 °C or above is maintained.
Attention!
If the goods are piled up to the height
exceeding the green line, set the temperature control
knob to "2" or "4".
SWITCHING THE EQUIPMENT OFF
To put the equipment out of service, turn the
temperature control knob counterclockwise to "off"
position. The green signal lamp is extinguished.
Putting the equipment out of service for prolonged time.
To put the equipment out of service, turn the
temperature control knob counterclockwise to "off"
position. The green signal lamp is extinguished.
Then, disconnect the plug connector from the mains
receptacle.
Disconnect the power supply from mains or
disconnect or remove the fuse. De-ice the freezer and
clean it carefully (see "Cleaning and maintenance).
Leave the cover open to prevent any smell from being
formed.
FREEZING
Recommendation:
for freezing fresh food, use the small
freezing compartment on the right side of separating wall
(see also "Interior of equipment /separating wall"). This
enables the fresh food to be separated from those already
frozen. Take always care of preventing the food already
frozen from being melted as a result of contact with fresh
food. If the freezing compartment is insufficient, part of
goods can also be placed in the large compartment of
conservation on the left side of separating wall.
Attention!
Prior to freezing foods, the inner temperature of
freezer shall be of -18 °C or below.
Observe the freezing capacity indicated on the data
label. The freezing capacity is the maximum quantity
of fresh products that can be frozen within 24 hours.
If the freezing is implemented during several
subsequent days, only 2/3 or 3/4 of the quantity
indicated on the data label shall be frozen.
Any food once melted is not allowed to be frozen at a
second time without further processing (e.g.
preparation of cold dishes).
In order to utilize the maximum
freezing capacity, depress the button
"CONGÉLATION RAPIDE (quick
freezing) for 2 seconds 24 hours in
advance of the time the freezing is
planned to begin or 4 to 6 hours in
advance if only a small quantity of
goods is to be frozen. The yellow
signal lamp is lit and "SP" appears on
the display.
It is not necessary to use the button FROSTMATIC
for quantities not exceeding 3 kg.
Wrap the foods hermetically prior to freezing in order to
prevent them from becoming dry, loosing their flavour
or interacting with the flavour of other frozen foods.
Caution!
Do not touch the frozen products with wet
hands; otherwise your hands may stick to the frozen
product as a result of freezing.
