ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

Before switching on, make sure that the voltage of your

electricity  supply  is  the  same  as  that  indicated  on  the

rating plate, located inside the lid.

Warning:
This appliance must be earthed.

this  appliance  complies  with  the  following  EC

Directives:

- 73/23/EEC of 19. 02. 1973 - Low-Voltage Directive
- 89/336/EEC of 03. 05. 1989 (including Amendment

Directive 92/31/EEC - EMC Directive.

Some of the models are not available in all countries.
Testing  has  been  carried  out  in  accordance  with  ISO

5155  regarding  the  determination  of  freezer  capacity,

energy consumption and hold-overtime.
Information for test institute: A plan of the positioning of

test  packages  may  be  obtained  directly  from  the

manufacturer.

DESCRIPTION OF EQUIPMENT (2)

Control panel

1. Temperature controller and signal lamp of the control

section (green)

2. FROSTMATIC  button  for  quick  freezing  and

FROSTMATIC signal lamp (yellow)

3. AVERTISSEMENT  ARRET  (alarm  acknowledgement)

(to  stop  the  acoustic  alarm  signal)  and  alarm  signal

lamp (red).

4. Digital temperature display.

HOW TO USE

DIGITAL TEMPERATURE DISPLAY

Each model is provided with a digital temperature display

built  in  the  cover  grip.  During  normal  operation,  it

indicates  the  temperature  of  frozen  goods  in  °C.

Nevertheless, there may be certain exceptions as follows:
- In  CONGÉLATION  RAPIDE  (quick  freezing)  mode,

"ÊSPÊ" is displayed.

- If the temperature sensor is failed, a small rectangle is

displayed  on  the  upper  or  lower  right  corner  of  the

display (see chapter: Procedure in case of…).

The  temperature  indicator  displays  the

temperature of the frozen goods and, as a result,

shows relatively slow changes e.g. in the case that goods

are added. If the cover remains open for long time, it may

occur  that  the  temperature  alarm  trips  while  the

temperature indicator remains unchanged. This is not a

failure. Press the button AVERTISSEMENT ARRET (alarm

acknowledgement) to stop the acoustic alarm signal. The

red alarm signal lamp extinguishes after a certain time.

TEMPERATURE ALARM

If the temperature in the freezer becomes too high, the

acoustic  alarm  sounds  and  the  red  alarm  signal  lamp

flashes.
The  acoustic  alarm  signal  sounds  and  the  red  alarm

signal lamp lights up:
- on  putting  the  equipment  into  service  until  the

temperature necessary for conservation is reached; or

if  the  temperature  of  conservation  cannot  be

maintained any more (malfunction;

- after  loading  fresh  food  in  a  quantity  exceeding  the

freezing capacity (see "Freezing");

- if the cover remains open for long time.

Press the button AVERTISSEMENT ARRET (alarm

acknowledgement)  to  stop  the  acoustic  alarm

signal. The red alarm signal lamp continues to flash until

the freezer reaches the proper temperature.

The acoustic alarm signal fails to sound and the

red alarm indicator fails to light up

- if the power supply to the equipment fails;
- in the case that the electronic temperature controller is

failed.

PRIOR TO PUTTING INTO SERVICE

Clean the inside of equipment and all the appliances

prior to putting into service the first time (see chapter:

"Cleaning and maintenance")
Remove the heat accumulators if provided.
Do not place the heat accumulators on the bottom of

freezer and do not freeze them but only once at the

time the optimum temperature of - 18 °C necessary

for conservation is reached.
After approx. 24 hours, place the heat accumulators

- if provided - in the freezing trays arranged in ranging

baskets that are suspended at the upper part of the

freezing space.
If the freezing trays are used for pre-freezing, the heat

accumulators  can  also  be  placed  directly  on  the

frozen  products  in  the  ranging  baskets  that  are

suspended at the upper part of the freezing space.
If the heat accumulators are melted e.g. following the

cleaning  of  equipment,  they  shall  be  frozen  in  the

manner described above.

PUTTING INTO SERVICE

Insert the plug connector into the mains receptacle

and turn the temperature control knob by means of a

coin. The green lamp indicating that the equipment is

energized is lit.
- If the temperature control knob is in "OFF" position

while the plug connector is inserted into the mains

receptacle,  the  equipment  does  not  function  and

the signal lamp does not lit.

- The  equipment  runs  in  the  "CONGÉLATION

RAPIDE" (quick freezing) mode for 5 hours and the

yellow signal lamp is lit.

- To stop the CONGÉLATION RAPIDE mode, press

the button CONGÉLATION RAPIDE for 2 seconds.
