j. If pipe to soil potential is monitored at the site, connect the red/black wire to the pipeline
structure lead and the white/black wire to the reference cell lead.

Step 9:
Install the
“AC Probe” Rectifier Input Power Sensor
Attach the AC Detect Probe to the AC Probe inputs on the Smart Node. The probe
detects the electric field produced by a live 115
– 230 AC power feed. The loss of this
voltage, due to line power failure will be detected by the probe.
A. Attach the AC Detect Probe to the AC Probe inputs on the Smart Node
a. Connect the leads to the Smart Node terminal strip at the inputs labeled AC Detect.
NOTE: The polarity is important. The Red lead must be connected to the positive
terminal. Improper connection will cause erroneous readings.
If the Smart Node is
installed in an integrated enclosure outside of the rectifier, attach the orange wire from
the 8-conductor cable to the red wire on the AC Probe cable and connect the blue wire
to the black wire from the AC Probe.
b. Secure the AC Voltage Detect probe to the terminal block in the rectifier where AC
power is connected using a plastic tie-wrap. It must be in close physical proximity to the
wires that bring AC power into the rectifier.
Secure AC Detect probe to rectifier AC input wires or rectifier circuit breaker block
