5.3 Instructions for confirming device and packaging were not tampered with, and for
establishing secure, confirmed communications with the solution provider
We wi ll deliver your payment device(s) to your chosen l ocation(s) in one of two ways:
By Courier/Engineer Pre-Configured
If you ha ve been sent your device by courier, follow these instructions.
You wi ll need the email previously sent to you with details of the POI devi ce(s) a nd the secured packaging
When you POI devices are delivered, the device will be sealed in s pecial outer packaging which has tamper-
evi dent safeguards - please be aware that the outer box will have already been opened by our s ecured
engineer and the device will be placed within a s ealed Tamper Evi dent Envelope (TEE)
Check the number on the outer box matches the package number in our email
If everything is okay, open the outer box
Check the serial number on the TEE matches the serial number i n our email
Check that the s eal of the TEE is cl osed and that there a re no evidence of ri ps or tears in the TEE
If s a tisfied, open the TEE and remove the POI device
Check the serial number on the POI Device matches the number on the box a nd i n our email –you will find
the s erial number of the POI devi ce on the back or underside of the device
Check the POI device for evidence of tamper a s per Section 5.1
