Service and Maintenance
1. Lamp
Change
To ensure a smooth operation, please follow these instructions carefully.
Safety Guidelines
•
Always disconnect main power prior to performing any service procedure!
•
Caution:
Always replace with the exact same type lamp, unless otherwise
specified by an authorized Elation
®
service technician. Replacing with
anything other than the specified part can damage your fixture and will void
your manufactures warranty.
•
Warning:
If you continue to blow lamps, STOP using the fixture. Contact
customer support for further instructions, you may have to return the unit for
service. Continuing to use the fixture may cause serious damage.
•
Always
allow
ample
time
for
the
fixture
to
cool
(approximately
20
minutes)
before attempting a lamp change.
•
Never handle lamp with your bare hands as the oils from your skin may
damage the lamp
•
Be sure to review all lamp handling and safety procedures on page 6
before attempting any lamp service.
Removing the Lamp
1. Remove the three Phillips screws on the rear of the projector.
2. After removing the retaining screws, gently slide out the socket assembly
from the rear of the projector to expose the lamp.
3. Carefully remove the old or broken lamp from the socket assembly and
discard it properly.
Attention:
The lamp may splinter. For that reason remove the lamp with
safety gloves or some cloth.
4. Replace the lamp with an approved replacement type and reassemble in
reverse order. Be sure to follow all lamp handling precautions.
5. Be sure to optimize the lamp to ensure optimum light output.
6. Reset the lamp running time in the fixtures main menu. See page 19.
