GSM/3G connection for ezeio™
Models with a GSM/3G/GPS module can communicate with the Internet via cellular service. The
GSM/3G signal is used to communicate with the server if the Ethernet connection is unavailable
(the switch between Ethernet and GSM is automatic).
The ezeio™ automatically communicates via the line when the Ethernet connection is available. If the
Ethernet connection cannot be used, the ezeio™ will connect to the servers via the mobile service.
A valid SIM card with data service is required to use the GSM connection. Always disconnect the power
from the ezeio™ when installing or removing SIM cards or antennas. Do not power up the ezeio™
without a cellular antenna connected.
ModBus/serial port for ezeio™
The unit has one Modbus RTU master port. The communication default settings are 19,200 bsp, 8 data
bits, no parity. The bit rate can be changed from the Configure → System screen.
Up to 20 Modbus devices (slaves) can be connected to the same Modbus RTU network, and the
network can be up to 800 metres long. In some cases, the wire length may be limited by the device
specifications and environmental factors (RS-485/Modbus RTU port pinout).
