  Meshed networks 

Use  of  the  Rapid  Spanning  Tree  protocol  (RSTP)  enables  any  Ethernet  structures  to  be  built,  for 

example, as displayed in Figure 2. STP and RSTP break these structures up into a tree structure and 

reconfigure  this  tree  structure  in  case  of  changes  to  the  topology.  The  reconfiguration  time  is 

typically less than 1 s for Rapid Spanning Tree.
