9.  Cable recommendations 

 

This chapter includes cable recommendations for the AIM module. 

The I/O cable has to be shielded twisted pair and to have at least 0.25mm

2

 cross- 

section. To achieve maximum protection against interference from outside, 
screened shielded twisted pair shall be used so that the outer shielding is 
connected to the metallized connector housing and each pairs own shield is 
connected to the Protection Earth (PE) pins next to the channel pins. For most 
cases simple shielded twisted pair is enough with plastic connector housing. 

 

 

Return wires within channels in any single group has limited 
compensation against common mode voltage. Therefore make sure 
that the return wires are in the same potential..
