Startup Procedure
Connect the oxygen supply line (5) to the oxygen supply.
This can be done either through:
-
Oxygen cylinder and pressure reducer (Part No. 212705 or 21270501)
-
Oxygen concentrator (Part No. 213160)
-
Air connector (piped oxygen) (Part No. 212503)
The input pressure should be about 3 bar. When using an oxygen concentrator the inlet pressure is lower due to the
type of construction. Thus, the filling time of the breathing bag is extended when operating the flush button
(oxygen bypass (2)). The flow meter, however, always displays the correct oxygen flow.

Fill the evaporator with Isoflurane.
The procedure is shown on the evaporator.
1.
Screw the Isoflurane key fill adapter onto bottle (Art. No. 213246)
2.
Untighten the screw on the side of the safety filling device, remove the sealing block, introduce the safety filler
into the filling tunnel and tighten screw.
3.
Turn the black filling screw to the 12 clock position.
4.
Fill the evaporator up to the maximum filling mark.
5.
Set the black filling screw on 3 clock position
6.
Remove the key fill adapter and insert sealing block and turn the screw very tightly.
7.
In older evaporators this may be impossible due to the lack of ventilation. In this case loosen the bottle from the
filler, so that air bubbles ascend in the bottle so that the anesthetic agent runs into the evaporator.
8.
A strong Isoflurane odour deriving during the filling, it indicates a worn out seal plate, which must be changed.
