Storage and disposal
6.1
Storage
CAUTION
Observe the storage temperature limits stated in
. Storage below these limits will permanently
damage the pump seals.
Note:
If you will store a new pump in conditions of high humidity, remove the pump from its cardboard packaging
box; dispose of the box (refer to
).
Use the following procedure to store the pump:
1. Shut-down the pump as described in
.
2. Disconnect the pump from the electrical supply.
3. Purge your vacuum system and the pump with dry nitrogen and disconnect the pump from your vacuum system.
4. Replace the oil as described in
.
5. Place and secure protective covers over the inlet and outlet-ports.
6. Store the pump in cool, dry conditions until required for use.
Note:
When required, prepare and install the pump as described in
. If the pump has been stored for
more than a year, you must clean and overhaul the pump before you install it, as described in the
instructions supplied with the clean and overhaul kit.
6.2
Disposal
Dispose of the pump, the oil and any components removed from the pump safely in accordance with all local and
national safety and environmental requirements.
Particular care must be taken with components and waste oil which have been contaminated with dangerous process
substances.
Do not incinerate fluoroelastomer seals and O-rings.
