To con fi gure the IP addre ss data for the BOOTP ser ve r,
you will need to log in the ho st of BOOTP ser ve r a s the
supe ruser (root). Per for m the followin g steps to add address
entrie s,
1. Optionall y, assign a name corre sponding to the
print ser ve r’ s IP add ress. You can add this addre ss to the
/etc/host s file, b y adding a lin e such a s:

2. Add an entr y to the ho st’ s / etc/bootptab file, similar
to the following:
hostname:\
:ht=1:\
:ha=print_server_ethernet_address:\
:ip=print_server_ip_address:
Lines should be ind ented with tab s.
Wher e hostna me is the device na me of a print ser ver,
the ht=1 tag sp ec ifie s the h ardware type is Ethernet, the
ha= tag sp ec ifies the Ethern et addr e ss o f a pr int ser ver,
which is the Node ID loc ated on the p rint server. The ha tag
mu st be preced ed b y the ht ta g. The ip = tag should
correspond to the IP addre ss you w ant to assign to the print
se r ver.
