Put in two hooks about 3 feet (1 meter)
apart and hang the seat crossbrace from

these. Put in a third hook at the front of the

bike and hang the front of the bike from
this hook.

Make sure the bike hangs level with all
wheels off the ground.

If you can’t use ceiling hooks, you can lean
the bike against a wall with the front brake

locked to prevent rolling. Wrap several

tight rubber bands around the front brake
lever until the front wheel can no longer

roll.

Step 2: Remove idler and chain.

Remove the mid mounted chain

idler and all associated pieces.

Using your chain breaker tool, split the
chain, remove, and set aside.

Step 3): Install the motor plate

1) Insert the motor plate into the

frame.

It fits in from the right side of

the bike. Angle the plate so that the
chain tensioner spring stop clears the

lower right frame tube and slip the

plate between the two lower frame
tubes. It should be oriented so that the

chain tensioner arm is towards the

front of the bike.

Most Gold Rush frames have a cross tab

welded between the lower twin tubes in
the vicinity of the chain idler mount. This

may interfere  with inserting the motor

plate into the frame. If so, you can safely
cut out the cross tab with a hack saw or

other tool. Adding the motor plate and

clamps will strengthen the frame  much
more than removing the tab weakens it.

2) Clamp the motor plate to the
frame.

Four clamp sets are supplied with

the kit, a bottom front pair, a bottom rear

pair, and two single offset clamps for the
top of the motor plate. Each clamp set is

installed with a single bolt threaded from
the left side of the bike.

2a) Bottom Front Clamp.

See

Photo 1.  Install clamp halves on M6 x 70 mm bolt as shown. Use the

9/16” spacer on right side of motor plate. Use a flat washer under the head of the bolt and  a flat and lock
