The LMIT 09 / S209 conductivity/temperature transmitter can be integrated into a field
bus system that works with the PROFIBUS DPV1 protocol. Plug-in screw terminals are
provided in the LMIT 09 / S209 to enable connection.
The PROFIBUS-DPV1 version of the LMIT 09 / S209 contains all functions required for
the phase separation, concentration monitoring and concentration control of conductive
media.
The PROFIBUS DPV1 version contains all features of the BASIS and
CIP versions, plus:
n
Configuration and parametrisation without direct access to the transmitter
n
Data transfer of conductivity/concentration and temperature
n
Transfer of status and fault messages
n
Selection of CIP ranges
n
Max. 32 transmitters (with repeater for 127 devices) on one bus line
n
PROFIBUS connection without additional device installation effort
n
Compact design (transmitter with integrated transducer)
Art. no. 189206 (EBS no. on request) Clamping ring attachment
n
Wall-mounted version (transmitter with separate transducer, cable length 5 m)
Art. no. 189207 (EBS no. on request) Clamping ring attachment
NOTICE!
The PROFIBUS module for expanding the transmitter’s functions is a plug-
in module and functions as of software version V1.1. that can be retrofitted
at any time.
Further information about PROFIBUS DPV1 can be found in the operating
instructions, art. no. 417101561, EBS. no. on request.
Measuring principle
The conductivity transmitter LMIT09 operates according to the electrodeless, inductive
measuring principle. Here, a toroidal core coil which is connected as a voltage transformer
induces an alternating current in a conductor loop which is formed by the fluid which
is to be measured; this induced alternating current is directly proportional to the electric
conductivity. A second toroidal core coil which lies in the conductor loop and is connected
as a precision current transformer delivers a fraction of this alternating current as an input
signal to a subsequent measuring amplifier.
