Battery Management System (BMS) and Bike Controller

Illustration: Location of the bike controller at the front of the battery case

Inside the battery are essential electronic components which interact with the controller and
manage the battery itself. Your battery is a factory sealed unit and must not be altered, opened or
otherwise tampered with.

The battery slides in and out of the mounting case, using a

click lock

 and physical

key

lock

 to hold it in place.

The BMS is housed inside the battery

(you can’t see it).

The bike controller is housed at

the rear of the mounting dock, located under your saddle and you will see the wiring loom
running into it. It is inside the case  you can’t see it.

These two parts are essential to the bike system. (see previous photo). They have been to be
waterresistant. However, take care not to immerse either unit in water. Generally speaking
people are used to not putting batteries in water, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that while
your eBike can get caught in the rain, you should avoid hosing for a clean it down with battery in
place (and especially turned on) or aiming the hose inside the battery mounting. To clean the
battery and mounting cassette we recommend the use a lintfree cloth and very small amount of
luke warm water on the cloth to wipe down. Do not use any form of chemical cleaning agent or
water directly on the battery or mounting.
