The shelf life for the batteries installed in the IBC are 8 months from the date code on the battery for the E39
and E50 batteries and 24 months from the date code on the battery for the N54 and H41batteries. The recharge
date is also stated on a label inside the IBC.
CAUTION
Failure to recharge the batteries before the expiration of the shelf life will result in reduced discharge time,
shorter float service life, and will void the warranty.

Contact your local recycling or hazardous waste center for information on proper disposal of the used Valve-
Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) batteries.
WARNING
•
Do not dispose of the battery or batteries in a fire. Batteries may explode. Proper disposal of batteries is
required. Refer to your local codes for disposal requirements.
•
Do not open or mutilate the battery or batteries. Released electrolyte is harmful to the skin and eyes. It
may be toxic.
•
A battery can cause electrical shock, burn from high short-circuit current, or fire. Observe proper
precautions.
