2.1 Setting the gateway's field bus address

2 Installation
SWD gateways must only be installed and wired up by qualified electricians
or other persons familiar with electrical engineering.
The SWD gateway is installed in the following order:
•
Adjust the field bus adresse at the device.
•
Mount the device.
•
Connect the power supply.
•
Connect the SmartWire-DT line.
•
Connect the field bus.
2.1 Setting the gateway's field bus address
Before mounting the device, set the field bus address by using the DIP
switches (DIP = Dual Inline Package) The DIP switches are located under a
cover on the right side of the gateway.
2.1.1 Default settings Ethernet address
The EU5C-SWD-EIP-MODTCP gateway comes with the following default
settings:
IP address:
192.168.001.254
Subnet mask:
255.255.255.000
Standard Gateway:192.168.001.001
2.1.2 Obtaining an Ethernet address
There are various ways to adjust the Ethernet address:
•
The address is set directly on the device
•
From DHCP server on run-up
•
From BOOTP server on run-up
•
By setting the address with the SWD-Assist planning program
•
By acquiring it once via the DHCP server, at which point it will be stored
automatically
The method used is selected by means of integrated DIP switches.
The dip switches are located under the cover on the right-hand side of the
gateway.
The following figure shows the various possible configurations.
NOTICE
Changes made to the dip switches' settings will take effect only
after the power supply is turned off and back on again.
