11. WARNINGS RELATED TO INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Important
safety-related recommendations. It is necessary to adhere strictly to all the
recommendations, as incorrect installation may lead to occurrence of serious damage.
Prior to commencing installation we strongly recommended to read carefully the recommendations and
warning included in this manual (see the RECOMMENDATIONS AND WARNINGS RELATED TO SAFETY
chapter) and adhere to the recommendations contained therein.
11.1 Recommendations and warnings related to installation
•
Prior to commencing installation it is necessary to read carefully the RECOMMENDATIONS AND WARNINGS
RELATED TO SAFETY chapter
•
The fitter of the automation is liable for conducting the risk analysis and adjusting the safety devices of the
automation.
•
The fitter needs to check whether the temperature range declared on the automation is compliant with the
device installation location.
•
During installation it is necessary to act in continuous reference to the EN 12453 harmonised standards.
•
It is necessary to make sure that the individual devices to be installed are compatible with the control unit.
One should not proceed if even a single devices is not fit for the intended use.
•
It is necessary to make sure that the central unit installation location is not exposed to flooding, does not
include any source of heat or open flame and is not exposed to fire hazards or other hazards.
•
During installation it is necessary to protect the control unit components in order to prevent its
penetration by liquids (e.g. rain) and/or foreign bodies (soil, gravel, etc.).
•
Connect the control unit to the power line created in line with the current regulations, grounded and fitted
with a power supply distributing switch.
•
The motoreducer should be connected only to a power supply line executed in line with the binding
regulations; a device for complete line disconnection in the event of overvoltage of the 3rd category has to
comply with the binding national regulations.
•
Packaging materials need to be disposed of in a manner compliant with the local regulations.
•
It is necessary to wear safety glasses when making openings.
In the even of working at a height greater than 2 m from the bottom, for example for the purposes of
installing the signal light or aerial, the fitters need to be equipped with ladders, safety harnesses, safety
helmets and all the other equipment required under law and by the standard governing the works of this
type.
12. TESTS
•
The tests and the rest run have to be carried out by the FITTER. The liability of the person testing and
configuring the automation (the control unit is a part of which) includes performing checks required
according to the risk present and verifying compliance with the applicable laws and standards, including in
particular the compliance with the EN 12453 standard that specifies the efficiency requirements regarding
safety of use.
•
Testing and test run are the most important phases of the installation when it comes to ensuring
maximum safety of operation.
•
Checks and test procedures may also be applied for the purposes of routine checks of automation and its
devices.
•
The automation can be tested only if force tolerance that does not cause hazards has been set. The force
tolerance has to be set to minimum value in order to exclude the hazard of injuries caused during gate
closing.
