8. Gently pull straight up on the threaded connection in the
middle and remove the UV housing. (see figure 11)
9. Be sure to pull straight up. Do not bend sideways as the UV
sleeve is glass and can break.
10. Carefully remove the glass sleeve by pulling straight down.
Glass is very fragile, use caution when removing and han-
dling broken glass. Clean the glass sleeve with a clean
damp cloth. (see figure 12)
11. Reinstall the black end piece on the end of the sleeve and
carefully slide the UV cover back into place.
12. The UV sleeve will slide around a black ring and will only go
in about

13. Carefully place the UV housing and bulb back into the filter.
(see figures 11 & 10)
14. Reattach the cord retainer clip with the two screws. (see
figure 5)
15. Make sure to line up the power cord in the back with the slot
in the UV cover. (see figures 3 & 9)
16. Install the UV light cover and
screw down the retaining ring.

17. Reattach the barbed fittings to
the pressure filter.
Pressure Filter Cleaning
1. There is a cleaning indicator on
the top of the filter. It will be green
in normal operation. When the fil-
ter needs to be cleaned the indi-
cator will turn to red. (see figures
14 & 15)
2. When this occurs, if the pressure filter is equipped with UV,
disconnect the pump from the power source.
3. If the filter is a pressurized unit, the pressure must be re-
leased before removing the lid. This
can be done by disconnecting the
inlet and outlet hoses.
4. If your unit is an ECF10 or ECF10U,
you will need to undo the four retain-
ing clips. If your filter is an ECF25
(U) or ECF40 (U), you will need to
release the tension ring. (see figures
16, 17 & 18)
