4. Cut the threads using the thread cutter

Selecting/changing a stitch pattern
Your sewing machine has 12 different stitch patterns. To select a stitch pattern,
proceed as follows:
1. Turn the handwheel

counterclockwise, until the needle is in
its highest position.
2. Look at the diagrams numbered 1-12
on the front of the sewing machine
and choose the desired stitch.
3. Rotate the pattern selection dial

until the arrow to the left of it lines up
with the corresponding stitch number
from the diagram.
Make sure that the patern selection
dial clicks correctly into place and does
not stop between two numbers.
Adjusting tension
A balanced stitch will
have a top and bottom
thread locking in the
center of the fabric.
Neither thread is too
loose or too tight.
If the bottom thread looks like a straight line, it indicates that the upper thread
is too loose.
− Turn the thread
tension dial

to a higher num-
ber to increase
the tension until
the stitching is
balanced.
