❐
Do not reach under the workpiece and never hold the workpiece in your hand or secure it
with your leg. Secure the workpiece on a stable bracket to minimise the risk of body contact,
to prevent the saw blade from jamming or losing control.
❐
Only carry the device by the handle.
❐
Avoid positioning your body in an abnormal manner. Make sure that you have a stable stance
and maintain balance at all times for better control the device in the event of unexpected
situations.
❐
The vibration strengths specified in the “Technical data” reduce the duration of use. If your
fingers tingle or change colour (if they become white), stop working.
❐
Warning:
The actual vibration strength when using the device may differ from the values
specified in these instructions. This may occur for the following reasons:
– Are you using the device properly?
– Are you holding the device properly?
– Are you sawing and processing the material properly?
– Is the device in good condition?
– Are you using the correct saw blade and is it sharp enough?
❐
If you experience an unpleasant sensation or if your hands change colour when
using the device, immediately stop working with the device!
Take adequate breaks
when working with the device. Failure to take adequate breaks may result in hand arm
vibration syndrome.
❐
Adjust the operating time of the device, the frequency and length of breaks to your physical
condition in order to limit the vibration load as much as possible.
❐
To considerably reduce the risks associated with vibrations, keep your body and especially
your hands warm in cold weather and move / relax your hands and fingers during breaks. This
promotes circulation.
❐
The device inevitably produces noise. For this reason, please take breaks as indicated and
keep the duration of use to a minimum. For safety’s sake, you and all persons in the vicinity
of the activated device should wear ear protection.
❐
The saw blade may be very hot shortly after sawing. This represents a burn hazard! Let the
hot saw blade cool off. Never clean the hot saw blade with flammable liquids.
Handling the device properly
❐
Check the device for damages prior to each use. Mobile parts such as the protective shield
must function properly and may not jam or be bent. If parts of the device, the cord or the
plug exhibit visible damages, the device may not be used. Do not attempt to repair the device
or replace the cable and / or plug yourself. In the event of damage, promptly contact the
customer service or contact a qualified workshop to guarantee your own safety.
❐
Also check the device for sticky deposits and the accumulation of chipping (e. g. on the
protective shield) prior to first use and if necessary, clean the device (see chapter “Cleaning
and storage”).
❐
Never clamp or tie the protective shield in an opened position.
❐
Keep the saw blades sharp and clean. This ensures that working with the device is safer and
easier.
