First of all, consider where you are going to place your UV system. You will need to access it to change the
lamp/quartz sleeve and check on a regular basis that it is working correctly. This includes making sure that it
has a continuous power supply via the transformer.

Before you position your unit for installation, make sure that you are not going to affect any existing plumbing
or electrical supplies.

Install the mounting clips to a wall or other stable and solid location.

Install the necessary plumbing required to connect  the stainless steel chamber.

Ensure that you put 10

turns of PTFE tape between the stainless steel sleeve and the connectors.

1.

Refer to the photographs and instructions on page 3, steps 1 to 6

2.

Once the quartz sleeve and lamp have been set up correctly, connect to the water supply and turn on

the water. Check for leaks and repair if necessary.

3.

Plug the transformer into an electrical power supply and switch on

4.

Run water through the chamber for 5-10 minutes before use.

1.

Disconnect the power supply

2.

Turn the water off and open a tap down stream of the system to relieve the pressure

3.

Remove the PVC cap and unscrew the aluminium nut

4.

Carefully withdraw the lamp approximately 2cm from the chamber

5.

While holding the lamp end, carefully remove the lamp socket on the exposed end

6.

Carefully withdraw the lamp from the chamber and put to one side for recycling

7.

Remove the new lamp from its packaging and without touching the glass of the lamp, connect to the
socket  (see page 3, sections 2-6)

8.

Follow steps 2 to 4 as above—”Installing the Quartz sleeve and UV lamp”

To ensure maximum efficiency of your UV system, we suggest you carry out the following regular
maintenance:



Clean the quartz sleeve every 6-12 months using a glass cleaner



Replace the quartz sleeve every 24 months



Replace your UV lamp every 12 months without fail (or your water quality
may be compromised)



Ensure that you use reliable components from East Midlands Water Company or a
recommended reputable supplier
