The heating inlet and outlet hoses must be to the correct tappings as marked on the rear left side
of the unit:
A drain off cock must be connected to the correct tapping on the ASHP as above.
All outdoor pipes must be thermally insulated with external grade waterproof insulation at least a
30 mm thick wall. The insulation must also be vapor resistant. All indoor pipes must be lagged
with insulation with a wall thickness of at least 19mm.
Important:
Even though the unit has anti-freeze protection, if the circulation pump fails or
there is a problem with the power supply, there is still a risk of damage due to freezing.
The
system
must
be protected from freezing by using a glycol solution in the water circuits.
The glycol/water should be added into the system from the water loop or via the top of the
buffer tank. The Glycol must be suitable for the whole system which is why ESP can supply the
ideal glycol for the Solis as an optional extra. The following table details the volume of the
glycol/water solution mix:
