TROUBLE SHOOTING
If the SMART stops during operation, it means that the SMART microprocessor, or the primary safety
protection of the customer have detected a trouble :
Primary safety protection releasing: Caused by: Primary cable defect or converter defect
No primary safety protection releasing: The microprocessor has detected one of the following incidents:
Short circuit between phases on AN side.
Short circuit between phases and earth on AN side.
Overload.
Overheating : converter casing temperature too high : > 60°C.
Refer to the MAINTENANCE section to solve the problem.

No special tool is needed.

Except cleaning, the SMART is maintenance free. The converter casing must be kept clean in order to get
the best cooling effect. The SMART should not be cleaned with high pressure water jet.
IMPORTANT: WHEN SMART IS SWITCHED OFF, THE COMPONENTS INSIDE KEEP
DANGEROUS VOLTAGE. WAIT FOR 2 MINUTES BEFORE SMART DISMANTLING.
Primary safety protection releasing :
1) Inspect primary cable and plug, replace the defect part.
2) If the trouble remains, change the converter.
No primary safety protection releasing, the converter microprocessor detects a trouble:
When the vibration stops due to converter trouble detection, proceed as follows to investigate:
o
Press the ''O'' switch to stop the converter.
o
Wait for half a minute.
o
Press the ''I'' switch to run the converter. If the vibration starts again, the trouble was due to an
overload coming from a defect mechanical part or from the application itself: poker stuck in steel
reinforcement (see item 3).
If the vibration is not efficient, see items 1, 2, 4.
1) Short circuit between phases on poker side: Disconnect the wires from converter to
AN. Measure the resistance between phases on AN side, see the values hereafter. If
wrong inspect the wiring and the tube stator. Replace the faulty one.
2) Short circuit between phases and earth: Measure the resistance between each phase
and the earth, it must be greater than 10 Megohms. If wrong inspect the wiring and the
tube stator. Replace the faulty one.
3) Overload: Check the input current of the poker out of concrete, see max values
hereafter measured after 2 minutes. If wrong, dismantle the vibrator tube and check the
mechanical parts, replace the faulty one.
If the parts are right, the overload is due to the application. Check the input current when
AN is immersed in concrete. It does not permanently exceed the amps data plate value.
4) Overheating: converter casing temperature: > 60°C . Can be due to an overload or
high ambient temperature.
i. Press the ''O'' switch, wait for some minutes
ii. Then press the ''I'' switch. The start is efficient after temperature has decreased
10°C.
