PREPARATION

PROTECTION. 

 

 

This roofer is supplier with a Milton 727 type air coupler.  If another 

type coupler is required, use a free flow quick connect fitting on the 

tool. (See Fig. 1) 

 

 

 

 

Add a few drops of part number 403720 pneumatic  oil into the air inlet.

 

 

 

 

(See Fig. 2) 

 

 

 

 

Empty the nail and cap magazines. 

 

Connect the tool to an air compressor using a 3/8” I.D. hose.  Make 

sure the hose has a rated working pressure exceeding 200 PSI and a 

female quick coupler. (See Fig. 3) 

 

Regulate the air pressure to obtain 80 PSI at the tool.  Check the

 

operation of the contact safety trip mechanism following the 

instructions in this manual. (See Fig. 4) 

 

Disconnect the air supply from the tool. 

 

Load nails into your tool following the instructions in this manual. (See 

Fig. 5) 

 

Load caps into your tool following the instructions in this manual.  (See 

Fig 6) 

 

Reconnect the air supply to the tool. 

  Test for proper nail penetration by driving nails into a sample piece of 

wood.  If the nails do not achieve the desired penetration, check that  

pressure is adjusted to at least 100 psi.  Then adjust depth stop on back 

of roofer until desired penetration is reached.  (See Fig. 7) Do not 

exceed 120 PSI at the tool.  

 

Set the Switch at the top of the tool “On” for cap feed or “Off” for 

applying roofing nails only.  (See Fig 8)
