6.2 Disassembly Instructions

CAUTION
Make sure freezer is
depressurized before
proceeding.
CAUTION
To avoid electrical shock or
contact with moving parts,
make sure all switches are
in the “OFF” position and
that the main power supply
is disconnected.
1. If there is product in the freezer
refer to Section 9, Closing Proce-
dures, 9.1 Draining Product.
2. Refer to figure 6-2. Remove the
plunger rod (7) by lifting up and
swinging the bottom out and down.
3. Pull the keeper (11) out of the head
(1).
4. Unplug the spindle motor (8) and lift
it upward, removing it from the
head.
5. Remove the handle (10) and hand
knobs (15) and then pull the head
(1) straight out.
6. Remove the head bushing (2) and
beater shaft from the cylinder.
7. Remove the scraper blades and
shaft seal from the beater shaft.
8. Remove the plunger (6) and o-rings
(4,5), air relief plug (14) and o-ring
(16) and head o-ring (3) from the
head.
9. Disassemble the shaft seal
assembly by removing the o-ring
and the cup seal from the
washer. See figure 6-3.
10. Remove the mix tank, covers,
and low mix probe from the
cabinet.
11. Remove the drip tray (See
Replacement Parts Manual-
Panel Assembly) and drip tray
insert from the front of the
freezer.
CAUTION
To prevent bacteria growth,
remove ALL O-rings when
disassembling for cleaning.
Failure to do so could create
a health hazard.
