The knob (3, fig. 125) located on the expansion
reservoir of the shock absorber adjusts the
compression damping.
Turning the adjusters (1) or the knobs (2) and (3)
clockwise increases damping or preload; turning
them in the opposite direction decreases them.
STANDARD calibration; from the fully closed position
(clockwise) unscrew:
adjuster (1, fig. 123) by 12 clicks;
knob (2, fig. 124) FULLY OPEN (counterclockwise);
adjuster (3, fig. 125) by 25 clicks.
Warning
The shock absorber is filled with gas under
pressure and may cause severe damage if taken
apart by someone who is unskilled.
If you intend to transport a passenger and baggage,
preload the shock absorber spring to the maximum to
improve the dynamic performance of the motorcycle
and to avoid possible interference with ground. You
may find that rebound damping needs adjusting as
well.
