Circuitry Protection
:
The
VF
-
150
OEM
circuitry incorporates over
-
current, over
-
temperature,
and
s
hort
-
circuit
protection.
There are two operating modes for the current limit protection
circuitry:
1.
Auto mode
a.
In this mode the amplifier will monitor the output current and make decision
based on the current and time.
b.
If the output current is above 150mA or below
-
150mA for more then 10msec the
amplifier will limit the output current to ±150mA
until the output current is less
then 50mA for 30msec
.
2.
150mA mode
a.
This mode will configure the amplifier so that only a maximum of 150mA is
available at the output.
The over temperature protection will turn off the amplifier and disconnect from the power
supply
when the temperature reaches 80C. The amplifier will be re
-
enabled when the temperature drops
to 70C. To enable the amplifier the temperature must be below 70C.
Short circuit protection is activated when the output is above 75mA for more then
one second.
Under this condition the amplifier will be disconnected from the power supply for one second.
After one second the amplifier will be reconnected.
