150 OEM
Description
The VF
-
150 OEM is a board mountable linear piezo amplifier module with an integrated 16
-
bit
digital to analog converter (DAC). This
module is designed to be mounted
directly
to a
customer’s printed circuit board.
The VF
-
150 OEM output voltage can be controlled in 3 ways:
1.
An analog voltage can be connected to the analog input. This signal will be
summed
with the DAC and
amplified
by a gain of about 58V/V.
The default DAC voltage is 0V.
2.
In the default configuration the DAC output voltage is controlled through an SPI
communication bus.
3.
Optionally the DAC can be user configured to be connected to the onboard controller
with communi
cations to the controller and the DAC through an asynchronous serial
protocol.
In all mode the output of the DAC and the analog input are summed at the input to the amplifier.
Only one of the inputs needs to be used to drive the amplifier. It is recommen
ded that the analog
input be connected to ground if it is not used to reduce the risk of noise being picked up by the
input. A list of the serial command along with the communication protocol will be presented in a
later section.
